Programming languages can have somewhat strange names. A language named C is a widely-used language, although it is more than 40 years old and many other programming languages have emerged after the invention of C. The C programming language has influenced many later programming languages.

A famous book named The C Programming Language is written by Brian Kernighan and Dennis Ritchie, the inventors of the language. These authors were the first to introduce a program that prints the text "hello, world" to the screen. A PDF version of the book is available, for example, here. It is not known how legal this copy of the book is.

The Internet contains many C language tutorials. The following links might be useful if you want to find more information about C.
