Enabling the execution of Java appletsJava applets are small Java programs that can be embedded on Internet pages. As Internet pages are viewed with browsers (e.g. Internet Explorer), the browser that is used must be configured so that it allows Java applets on the pages it displays.Internet Explorer 6To enable the execution of Java applets in Internet Explorer 6, you have to first select Tools > Internet Options. Then a dialog box will appear and you must select the Security tab. Ensure that the Internet zone is selected, and click the Custom Level button. Another dialog box will pop up. Scroll down to the Microsoft VM section. If "Disable Java" is selected, select "High Safety" or "Medium safety" instead. Click "OK" in both dialog boxes. After this you need to restart the browser.Other browsersUsually in every browser there is an Options or Preferences menu through which you can find the possibility to enable the execution of Java applets on Internet pages. For instance, in the Firefox 1.5 browser, you should select Tools > Options... > Content to find a place where Java can be enabled.Java Runtime installationIn addition to making your browser Java-enabled, you need to have the Java Runtime (Environment) installed on your computer. To find out how the Java Runtime is installed or how your browser needs
to be configured, it might be a good idea to Google with the search
words "Java Runtime installation". Some banks require that customers
can run Java applets in their browsers when they are accessing the
bank via the Internet. Therefore, very well written instructions can
be found on the pages of some banks. I googled with the words
